Kat - Mmmm, this is fairly refreshing. Took quite an electronic source and make it more acoustic. I dig it. Not particularly fond of some of the guitar sounds, but it is what it is.

Silverpool - This is a big step up for you man. But I gotta say while it sounds good it is a bit dry to me. The sounds are there and the piece is cohesive, but it lacks embellishment. I feel this could be up there, but just lacking extra polish as it were.

PlanarianHugger - Compared to the other two entries this is just all over the place sonically. Everything is fighting everything for attention. Otherwise I rather enjoy this. Another 30 min on production. Unfortunately, this happens when there are a couple of other tracks that are roughly the same subjectively. Gotta look at smaller details :(

GCJ - Pretty solid, some bits sound a bit phasey and at times there doesn't seem like a solid "center" to the track. Otherwise really good stuff here. Again I like the acoustic take on it. Pro-tip: watch the sibilance some more, got some pokey bits.

GCJ - Liked the lyrics.
APZX - There's a lot of stuff in this song, it sounds very complete.
Kat - Interesting take on the source, the guitar and flute are a nice addition.
PlanarianHugger - I like what's there, the song could use a bit more variation in the sampling.
Silverpool - Enjoyed the stuff on the background.

APZX - Love the overly cheesy synths and more electronic style, only thing I'm not a fan of in this one is a couple of the synths, most notably the one playing the vocal part is about a beat off from the rest of the part, which throws me off a bit because I've listened to the original so many times. Would have been my first place to if not for those off-beat parts and the lack of change aside from the synths and the intro.

Kat - The intro, drum breaks, and vocals steal the show here, my absolute favorite parts of the track. Sometimes the guitar sounds really good, but other times it sounds very distractingly robotic/MIDI. The snare sounds very weak except during the drum breaks, like it's being brushed instead of hit which is kind of distracting in a dance track. Also, just a bit of a nitpick on my part, but I think there's too much mid emphasis in the eq during a few parts and the frequencies are conflicting between instruments because of it. Despite my problems, those show-stealing moments are so good that I just have to give it a high place.

Me - Oooooh jazzy :P

PlanarianHugger - I like the new composition, the new parts really separate this track. My biggest issue is that I can't tell where the melody is for a lot of the track, and I'm not sure whether that has to do with how compressed it is or the large mid eq focus on the synths. Some more time mixing/mastering probably could have solved this issue.

Silverpool - There is some cool synth-work here, though some of it is basic because of the 9-bit style and I think the bells at the beginning should have had a little more release or reverb to capture that ethereal feel at the beginning. It's a nice chill take on the song and I like that. It starts to get repetitive at certain points, especially right before the chorus because the synths are basic and there aren't lyrics to differentiate the two verses.

APZX - It wasn't till after the build up after about 1:00 that it started to flow for me. I like the energy and atmosphere of the song it worked well together. The ending on the other hand seemed out of place and unnecessary. Liked it.
Kat - A conservative arrangement but well executed. Like the guitar that played in the background of the song and the vocals in the middle helped as well. The fade out bothered me on the other hand.
GCJ - Nice to see someone attempted the original vocals. The song structure was too close to the original and there was balance issues with the volume. Specifically the snare was too loud. Other than that and the sudden end it was a nice arrangement.
Silverpool - I understand wanting to add vocal and not being able to but this song requires some form of the vocal melody. Without them all its just a set of repetitive chords. I like the drums but some of the other synths were too ear piercing to be enjoyable. Interesting arrangement other wise.

PlanarianHugger:
I thought you had the best take on the arrangement. I liked how you seemed to deviate from the source more than the other entries.

Kat:
I liked the (guitar?) sounds you used, especially at 2:02. What did you use?

APZX:
I liked the way you had the (chord progression?) up front from 0:30 onward. I think you and I had similar ideas, you just executed it better than me. :)

GCJ:
When the vocals came in at 0:58, I wasn't expecting an octave change or the lower energy level, although it seemed to fit the theme.
Also, it was a little hard to hear the lyrics at 0:58 because you weren't projecting enough.

All of the entries sound so similar, I had a hard time voting.

APZX - Loved the variations on the melody and the mix as a whole.

PlanarianHugger - A bit too cluttered on the lower ends for my tastes, but well enough.

Silverpool - This was a tough one, as I found Planarian's mix to be heavy on the lower ends, while yours was a bit harsher on the upper range. Overall I enjoyed yours more, though certain parts felt a tad too loud. The lack of a stand-in for the lead(even had it been a simple instrument) really pushed it down to third for me, though.

GCJ - Definitely would've been a first place if it hadn't been a bonus. Really nice mixing and smooth vocals really brought it together.

Kat- This is great. I especially like the lead guitar starting at 1:20 and wonder how you're getting that sound.

APZX - Good stuff. Very enjoyable.

PlanarianHugger - Sorry, this just isn't grabbing me. I feel that sometimes your accompaniment drowns out your leads, and I'm not a fan of the slow overall volume shifts you've got going on.

Silverpool - This is alright but parts of this are difficult to listen to, mainly the synth sounds that sound like straight sine waves. Add some more complexity to your waves to make them more pleasant to listen to. I know you were going for 8-bit but 8-bit can still be made pleasant.
