I liked both mixes, but I liked PlanarianHugger's mix a bit more because of the creative use of synths, although it got a bit repetitive and the pacing threw me off a bit. Dewey Newt's mix was good, but the background synths with the slow attack didn't always match the rest of the song.

1) Dewey Newt - love that Voodoo Jamaican feel mon!!! It is da swaggiest swag this side o' Portugal. IDK where I'm going with that. But I really love the production and the chill nature of this remix.

2) GCJ - High energy and fairly decent sound quality wise. Loved the snare, chips and all of the other little soundbyte flares 'n whistles and bells and PINGASES!!!

3) PlanarianHugger - It's interesting, a bit too long and plodding for my tastes - gets stagnant kinda fast. It is a pretty cool soundscape nonetheless.

BONUS Zorrakh - Well, this woulda been 1st if this weren't a BONUS, you keep on surprising me with your talent Zorrakh! Love the sometimes detuned feel and general creep-factor mood. The evolution and jazzy swag is sexy. Dat bass. The saxaphone sample is kinda meh, but all of the other elements are pretty strong IMO. Sax and trumpets can oft be difficult to sequence realistically - the struggle is real man.

3 Songs, 3 potential winners. And 1 bonus song.

Zorrakh - Complete different way of mixing this, it's funny and I enjoyed it. Liked the ending!
Dewey Newt - The style works nicely, great work
GCJ - The song has lots of energy, there's a lot of variation with the source.
PlanarianHugger - The song could have used a bit more variation with the samples but still you managed to keep the song interesting for about 5 minutes.

Finally got around to voting!

1. GCJ: Gives me mixed vibes of 80s style and modern "4 on the floor" dance music, solid instrumentation with the gritty bass, sawtooth leads, "spooky" counter-melody synth, big chords, nice use of panning effects, not a big fan of the swing section change up around 1:30. All the layers with great instrumentation choice is what puts this on top for me

2. PlanarianHugger: Another 80s style! The style lends itself well to the source, interesting use of major chords around 2:00, eighth note/moving parts help add texture around the constant bass and longer melody around pads help add that ethereal/spooky feel that glues everything together. Great mix, but not enough to surpass GCJ's mix.

Zorrakh: Interesting choice with the folk style, thought the chords you used for the organ around 0:55 didn't mesh well with the other instrumentation, but the organ was great elsewhere, sax sounds like it was sequenced, especially the trill around 1:50, great banjo solo, nice addition with the nighttime ambience and cheesy horror bits, instrumentation is great and helps add to the atmosphere you're trying to achieve

Slight background on me to qualify my next statement: I've been playing trombone and other brass wind instruments for about 10 years now. Wind instruments are some of the hardest to get to sound realistic through sequencing just because of all the minute changes (read: mess-ups) actual players do when playing. A quick tip for that trill would be to make it faster, not adhere to any of the step/beat snaps, and slightly change the length of each note in the trill. A lot of extra work, but I think it helps make it more believable. This can be used on other instruments for different effects as well. I've done this on guitar sequencing to get that "strum" guitar feel on some of the chords I was using, and then on some steel pan rolls to try and get them sounding more realistic.

Dewey Newt - Like the style and instrument choice. Not sure how I feel about the fade out at the end.
GCJ - The song fits the song name and is constantly moving from idea to idea. It was cluttered and needed balancing to hear every layer better.
Zorrakh - Reminded me of Left 4 Dead 2 with the banjo and atmospheric sounds. Some of the more jazzy stuff was a bit too jazzy for me.
