Very different from my take on it, but my instinct approves of the artistic integrity in a commentary on modernism's imperfections.

TheVideoGamer - This track sounds complex but to be honest it isn’t, especially if you look at my project file, although I am aware, the track sounds complex because of my synth choices. For basically the whole track we have a chord progression on an keyboard synth that spans A Major 7th, F# Minor 7, F Major 7th, D Major 7th, except this progression will transpose within each section change. So after 6 bars of it, the last chord becomes the new key change, making D Major 7th the key, and then maybe it goes to C or G. It’s just a vibrant way to keep it interesting but not repetitive. Other sounds are added mostly in the form of arps and stringed pads, as really I wanted to keep the vibe consistent throughout and not too jarring. Lastly to note, the track is unique in that the BPM is 90, with a breakbeat and bongo layer carrying the track, but the bassline and delay effects are so fast it makes it sound like it’s actually closer to either 180bpm or 270bpm, even though I’ve written it at 90. All in all, it’s not a symphony we such, but it does pack a punch, with some unique and interesting ideas. I kind of like it. Oh well glad you liked it too!
Koekepan - Interesting arps, i really feel the science fiction vibe here, even though the images are of some office buildings of some kind. I love the reverb on the snare, it's so good, the space between each hit is also lovely too. Nice to hear the return of the classic Koekepan mallet synth, it's a staple in a lot of tracks. It's a very loose melody, probably played life, it doesn't seem to follow a rhythm as such, and whilst it's nice, it can be a little mildly jarring, however i'm putting that down to me nitpicking. I always like your pads, it's warm and soft, and compliments the whole vibe really nicely. It's just a nice free-flowing piece, with some great drum sounds, whole thing is lovely really. Definately voting potential, awesome work!
DarkShadow - Dubstep shadow returns. Gotta love the intense FM in this one, it's almost like were in the land of textures, very little in terms of melodic elements as such, even though there is a melody. The drums in this one are extremely short, it's not only in my opinion unstatisfying, but the clicks and pops really don't match the intensity of this. I actually think a techno kick, and a more strong pronounced melody could take this further it was really cool, but as it stands, it was a lot of fun, i really enjoyed it. Good job!
Nukage - Wasting no time with the intro, really cool granular synths in this, great textures. The intro almost feels like a DDR beat, but it's actually just a nukage banger. I really dig the mild east asian influence in this. Holy fuck that drop was insane. This is very much oldschool Nukage, i haven't heard a Dubstep beat from you in forever, you've mostly latched onto the Metal phase, but that drop was fire! Such a shame you only did it for one round, i was like more, more! But nope, you decied, i've only got the energy for 1 minute today. Almost tempted to give you this one, but man i really need a part two to this, it cannot just end abruptly like that, especially for such a soft transition into something super hard. Good job though!
Unknown Pseudoartist - Cool bubble sounds, i feel like i'm in underwater. Loving the gritty synths here, it feels kind of industrial yet mixed with a fast techno beat, that is more closer to hardcore. The melodies are kind of interesting, if a bit dark and dissonant sometimes, however i do love the alternation between punk rock elements and techno beats, it's different and interesting. The idea is actually pretty cool, it just has a lot of potential in my opinion, both for smoothing and maybe to better contrast the techno with the punk. The rock just doesn't hit as hard as it could, especially in comparison to the hardcore techno beat. Still though, it's a lot of fun, and i do dig that melody, it's really nice. Good job!
A2Z - Sick textural chords, were definately floating here. Loving that Bb Flat chord, that's a nice touch. Whole thing definately has an element of trance music going for it. The arps took me by suprise, because the vibe felt slow as if were in 90bpm, but instead it's closer to 160bpm. I love the slow progression in this, it's beautiful, so much lovely textural synths and changes, especially for only 4 chords. I do like the melody at the end, but i would have perhaps picked a different synth, it adds a lot of intensity and compression, and it would have made it a more lighter synth. Still though, it doesn't change how beautiful the melodies are, and i think the strength of the synth and the melodies are enough for me to put this in the awesome ranking. If i had more than 3 spots i could see myseld putting this one on, it was lovely stuff. Awesome work!
cryef22 - Loving these Final Fantasy styled chiptune melodies, but with some tasty delay effects, and mild detune to where it sounds like it's inbetween a key. The bass is quite thick for this track, but i think it works really well to it's advantage here. The melody is very well executed, it's a hummable melody for sure. I do like the soft percussion, but this could also work with a breakbeat of some kind. The fade in arps really makes this a wonderful pleasent composisiton. Some parts i wished we looped it a bit more, it was beautiful, but as it stands i love this a lot, it's extremely nicely made. So nice, i placed it on the third spot it was just absolutely beautiful, amazing work!
Jett Swole - Holy shit i didn't even get an intro, that....was loud lol. Jesus man this is definately the wonderful mind of someone who probably drinks 10 cups of coffee a day. It's also very short, so i had to listen to you scream in the microphone like 4 times lol. Don't get me wrong, it's hard hitting as hell, and it definately made me smile, however eventually it got grating on my ears (And i say this as a hypocrite in that i make gabber and noise music. However a lot of my overtly distorted earlier entries, are sometimes even hard to stomache from my viewpoint, and i made them lol). Either way, it was amusing and a lot of fun, even if not for me. Still though, good job!
Coloradoweeks - Beautiful piano graces my ears, with a tiny bit of warble to make it sound more vintage. Whole thing has that vintage edge, these chords are absolutely beautiful. It's kind of Jazz meets ambient, it's quite the chord progression. I do like the bassline, although some parts might be a bit fuzzy (Though that definately seems intentional, and i do have bass forward headphones), but that's kind of a good thing here. Melody is wonderful as is the chords, it sounds super pleasent and relaxing. I just feel like i should sink into a beanbag it's super chill. Drum work is also sick too, even if it could be even better with a mild cymbal boost (That's me nitpicking really). Regardless this was just beautiful stuff, i love it, so much so i placed it on the 2nd spot, it was absolutely lovely. Incredible work!
DDRKirby(ISQ) - Lots of thick 80s synths in this one, i really dig it a lot. I also dig the drum rhythms this week, not the standard breakbeat, but more of a Prodigy breakbeat style. I also love the chiptune elements, it takes the classic DDR stylistic ideas, but mixes it in a 90's electronica way it's great. I also like the subtle east asian flair in the sounds, even if not a main part of the track. Whole thing is just mixed greatly as well, nothing sticks out like a sore thumb, and nothing is out of key, it's just one really nice pleasent composition with a lovely melody. Extremely pretty stuff, i wish there was more than 3 spots sometimes as i could definately vote for this one. Awesome work!
DarkMystery727 - Another short composition featuring a nice mellow melody in a major key, minus the C minor chord that is snuck in to give it a mild bit of uncertainty. The track is quite pretty and sort of emotional, although some chords definately make it more creepy and dare i say dissonant. It is a beautiful piece, but it definately leaves a little to be desired, i sense potential. The flute melody is dry as hell, reverb could benefit this a lot. Also it's front and centre, so there is going to a bit of overlapping fuzzy distortion, that is common with a lot of sine-wave like instrumentation. Also shaping in the melodies could make this really stand out, as some melody choices didn't really feel right to me, but like i say taste is personal. Someone else may love this. Again the track has potential, it sounds really nice as a concept, it's beautiful. Good job!
Arcana - Nice drones in this one, it goes great with the percussion. I like the intro a lot, it sets us up nicely for a DnB beat. The melodies are really nice, very dark and cinematic, but the vocals are sadly very dissonant i'm sorry. They're completely out of tune, making the track almost chromatic in nature. It's not that you're singing out of key, but rather there is a doubled vocal that is on top, that doesn't match, resulting in a semi-tone difference. Shame really as i do dig the backing track a lot. It has a lot of potential for smoothing especially the vocals, it's really nice. Good job!
NickC - Ooh a 5 minuter from Nick, that's kind of rare. This is very warm sounding, even if we are not in a major key, i think it's to do with the very sine heavy pad chords. I love how it mixes with the rest of the pads. It doesn't souns like strings, but i get a similar feel. Very soft swelled pads, makes for a super chill listen. Being this is 5 minutes, you take your time to develop things, but for this kind of track, it works to it's advantage, as i don't feel bored or tired by the end. It's also really nice to switch up the chords, by just changing a few notes. Nothing really happens, but it does change the mood big time, which is a nice touch. I just love the swelled chords, it's so pretty. And it's not even a uplifting piece (Or i supposed even that much consonant), but it just sounds so beautiful. When the beat kicks in, which is about the last 2 minutes of the track, it was extremely satisfying. Very reverb heavy, fits the chords exceptionally well, and it isn't obnoxious. The entire journey not gonna lie, was just incredible. Definately an excellent experience, with a beautiful cold haunting progression, more than fantastic enough for me to place it on the top spot, it was excellent. Incredible work!
Misael.K - Liking these space sounds, i feel like i'm doing a moon landing but in the 1980's. The textural pads are very cool, i feel like this round really has brought out the texures in people. The track has a lot of interesting chord changes, but that's Misael.K in a nutshell, i never know which chord you'll go to, you are known for some cool chord sequences. This one is a slow builder, in that you experience a lot of different dynamics, but it takes a while to get to them, but when it does, it's incredibly satisfying. With the amount of thick clustered synths and chords, it's hard to determine which chord is which, however the vibe is very nice and smooth. I long for a stronger beat here though, there is definately a break in the background, but it's so quiet it might as well do nothing lol. All in all, whilst i've heard stronger from you, this one was really interesting and unique, with a nice catchy melody. It was definately enough for me to give you this one i liked it a lot, definately voting potential, awesome work!
