It was really tough to rank these as I thought they all had a lot of merit.

APZX - Nice stuff, especially towards the end. I disliked the snare and crash cymbal toward the beginning though.

Silverpool - WOW, this is a huge step up from what you've submitted before. Everything works well and fits well together. I would have liked to hear more of your own flair and variations from the source though. I know this is the MNP competition but you don't have to stick so rigidly to the source material. A little rhythmic or melodic variation can go a long way.

Kat - Very nice piano performance of the piece. I liked the little bit of crackling towards the beginning as it made me imagine I'm sitting by the fireplace listening to you play, but it got more annoying towards the end. I know, it's a random audio imperfection I should ignore, but I wanted to point out that I thought it had some positive effect on the track toward the beginning. Like Silverpool's submission I would have liked to hear more personal variations on the source.

Kat : I love this full piano version, it keeps the feel of the song and even carries it further. I'm not sure it fits as a "remix" and sounds more like a cover imo, though im not sure where the line is. The fills sound great too. The noise we can hear in the background is weird tho. Was there someone using the computer nearby while you were recording or something ?

APZX : good work on this version too, its really different from the base source. Very refreshing take on this. One downside I noted though, is the loop playing at about 1:00 and 1:40. It might be just me but it feels like it's out of rhythm, i'm not sure, it feels out of place.

Silverpool : You're getting there buddy, this is definetely an improvement from your previous work. It could use some more polish and a more accurate "goal" in what you would like to do and how you get there, but that comes from experience (I'm pretty green too though so don't rely on my remarks too much). Keep it up !

Overall I'm pretty happy with what you guys did. Thanks to all participants.

Kat:
I felt this ReMix was a very good representation of the theme, though it's a little on the quiet side.

APZX:
You created a very different feel, so while I liked your interpretation of the source, I voted you second.

APZX: " Laid back, chilled, and easy to listen to" describes it pretty much perfectly. The piano variant towards the end was a nice addition.

Silverpool: I liked some of the pad and synth choices you made, though I still felt a bit flat.

Kat - usually I wind up glancing over the text, as I don't want it to color my perspective too much before I listen to the track, but I felt that it really went well with your take, as it had added a little extra atmosphere to "Stories". Beautiful piano solo and old school feels. This is the most MnP of all in my books - and well produced to boot.

APZX - This is pretty damn re-interpretive for an MnP take - "Peace in the Garden" feels more like it belongs in PRC, but that being said, this is indeed a very chill, crunchy remix - cool pads and atmosphere all around. Really love the vibrato effect the synth leads to make them feel more organic. Nice touch with the piano chords too.

Silverpool - This is okay, but stacked against APZX's and Kat's entries, "Lake of Reflection" is a hard sell - the lead synth is much too razor-sharp on the ears, for something that is supposed to be relaxed. I do like the "popcorn-y" arps and the synth harp though.
