Jorito - As you said in your description this was quite 'remixed' for an MnP entry, however the source did shine through enough to get a pass from me :) Overall I really liked this as it gave the impression of a band just jamming on stage and generally having fun. Nice little cameo from Kirby himself in the middle too!

Unknown Alias - The bass was awesome and fit the funky feel fantastically. The rest of the samples were a bit weak though which was unfortunate as they were overshadowed by the bass.

gercr - A nice range of samples here, though they all gave the impression of being chosen at random instead of following on from each other.

Trism - Never thought of turning it into something orchestral. Works well, gives an interesting fresh taste. It might use a bit less staccato strings (sustains would have worked well) and the pitchbend in the brass is a bit unrealistic, but other than that good job. Liking the pizzicato strings for the 2nd part of the melody too.

Unknown Alias - Nice dreamy sound, especially with the flutey melody sound. Brass for the second part works nicely too. Drums are a bit too hard for the dreamy feel. Digging the tremolo guitar too, but the arp at the end is a tad quick and takes me out of the dream :)

gercr - Intro sounds good, but the saw lead for the melody is a bit thin and unexciting to me. Overall some nice sounds in there apart from the melody instruments. The distorted organ was unexpected but sounds good and adds a bit of liveliness.

All of them great works, all deserving of the first place

Jorito- Great job! I couldn't help but smile through this whole thing =]

gercr- You really captured the spirit of the original, though I thought the bass was a little too muffled

Trism- I really liked where this was going, the strings all sound great. I thought you could have made more use of the other members of the orchestra though, even just some timpani or glockenspiel would have added a lot I think =]

No worries here, as Jorito stays well within (or so I'd say) the bounds of MnP. The funk sits well with the source and makes for a darn fun time.

Trism, as usual, pulls out something solid. Strings work well in a lot of places if pulled off just right.

Gercr had me for a while, but the instrument swapping eventually lost my interest, and on repeat listenings, I think I like Unknown's rendition a bit more even before that point hit.

I think Jorito best captured the feel of the track while still making it feel fresh and new.

Unknown Alias did good soundwise, but I don't know enough to truly justify or elaborate on anything I'm saying.

Third place was a toss up between Trism's bizarre audio quality and gercr's seemingly uninspired synth track. I wasn't sure who to pick, so I just picked the one I thought was more salvageable.

As stated before, I don't know what I'm talking about. If anyone is actually reading this, my opinions should be taken with copious amounts of salt.

Jorito - pretty sick take on this, and I daresay it DOES sound like you scribed this by ear and not a MIDI - loving that funky bass and the organs - the brass - damnit I love it all!!! Makes me groove in my chair like a dork, but a happy dork nonetheless ^_^ And yes this is VERY MnP, you maintained the mood and kept the original notation intact at a satisfactory level.

Trism - Arrg such a tough pick between you and Jorito - I'm ashamed to say it fell down to total subjectivity I just enjoyed Jorito's a tad more =( - nonetheless this is still very well produced and very energetic. I want that sound library damnit!! 5/5 for effort and skillz my man, you make me proud :)

Unkown Alias - the beat felt a bit stale as it went on, some more variation on it would've been nice. Really digged the ending with the bass guitar. 0:54 REALLY sweet choir section - and nice beach rock guitar samples, I think if you used those more often it woulda pushed you as far as 2nd place in my books ;) - still this is a really sweet take and enjoyed it thoroughly.

gercr - It felt like this track needs more energy, particularly the beat - there's an over-all muffled feel here. Also, the ending kinda peters off. With those gripes aside, I really liked the organ synth thingies and the reverby piano - nice touches - same with that popcorn synthy thing.

Gercr - The song has a nice variation in instruments.
Jorito - This is a funny mix, I like the style in combination with the source. Good end.
Trism - The strings also work with this source. Also here there's a nice variation with the instruments.
Unknown Alias - The drums are dominating a little too much. The other samples are good.
