Hey guys so i already said that i wasn't gonna make 2HTS this week, because at Christmas time i have a lot of commitments on, so music making is just very hard for me. This time though, i didn't even have time to scrape together a GarageBand entry, so i had to sit this one out. The good news is, i can comment on all the entries, and i will do so now, including the late entry from Boomer which will be shared in the late entries channel.
Dione Bigode - Extremely thick buzzing bass, this is quite the head inducing bassline. I really love the rhythms on what sounds like some metallic bongos. Kind of like an industrial banger with a techno edge. The drums are very loose, not just played live, but almost designed in such an experimental way (Ignoring the techno ending). This is extremely experimental stuff, and very cool, i really dig it! Love this one man, well done!
Vaiaphraim - Back to the GM sounds. Good ol' Yamaha providing us with some sick trumpet melodies and drum work. Totally fits a RPG from the 90's, i feel like were in a Phantasy Star kind of world, talking to the locals. Melodies were catchy as always, and the grooves slap as hard as it usually does. Love this one, well done!
Ricardomennegasso - Cool textural pads, feels weirdly calming in some ways, despite the intesity. Also has an 80's vibe to the whole thing, i feel like i'm in a spaceship. Love the slow changes in this, not much in terms of drums, just a wall of thick bassnotes and pad chords, yet i really dig it. Whole thing is just a cool drone experience, i love it, well done!
Antik - Holy damn this is one hell of a sample flip! This is some amazing samples here, damn you went wild. The old school boom bap is awesome too. Kanye would kill this beat, specifically his 2003-5 days. It's such a Kanye type beat, i love this one. Well done!
UrinalPooper - UrinalPunker retuning with some pretty shoegazey like melodies, and some cool reverse synths, that kind of blur the line between electonic and acoustic. The lyrics are the most normal Pooper has ever put out lol. It's just a really sick punk rock like vibe, with a powerful guitar performance. Love this one a lot, it's sick, well done!
AthanThatGuy - Woah those subs are really intense on my ears, i love it. It's got a kind of techno vibe, despite the thick dubstep subs going hard on my ears. The drums though are not dubstep though, and sound like some downtempo or lo-fi hip hop. The genre combination is strange but i absolutely love it. This one was a creative banger mate, well done!
Nukage - That is quite the dynamic waveform for a Nukage entry. Loving the calm spacious intro, feels very much like how were on another planet. Vocals are awesome as always, but more intimate than usual, it feels like there is more emphasis on a whipsered style than the usual hard hitting in your face approach. The metal drop is fire as always, although not as hard as i assume it would go, but i absolutely love it either way, the tones bang as always. Even if it doesn't go as hard as i think it should, i still love it either way. This one was just lovely stuff, well done!
Eidolon Ethos - Great intro, i feel very much unsettled, like there's some going on behind me. That beat has the makings of a DnB banger, but yet it's played at a slow tempo of around 100bpm, that is very interesting. It's the textures that make it seem faster than it actually is. The drop was sick, it's not making an overt statement, but it kicks ass either way. Subs really grace my ears, this is more of a minimal style piece and i love it. Whole thing was just sick, well done!
LBApophis - That is one spooky sample, or it could be a synth who knows. I do like how it loops, it sounds so seemless. The drums in this are sick, it's quite distorted, but in a oldschool lo-fi way, and not in a industrial sounding way. The chords are very unusual, this is probably the most experimental i've seen you be, the track is just killer and different. I love the filtering effects, and the transitions to each section. Just a whole ton of fun, and very groovy, well done!
Adreqi - Cool synth here, very much got a textural vibe going on. Not a melodic synth, more like a chromatic kind of vibe going on. The main chords though, aren't dissonant, so it provides a lovely contrast between the sharp parts, and the more natural synmphonic elements. Although a quiet waveform, it's extremely dynamic, it feels like a James Bond video game, but complete with some jazzy like drums. I totally feel the cinematic vibe in this, it's lovely. Whole thing is jsut killer stuff, well done!
Lukeloww - Love how you even provided the tuning, that's swell. This is like a C Major to G Major chord progression, but with the spiciness amped up, it feels very unique and unusual, but yet it works so well. I absolutely love the vocals and the effects here, it's so different. The track has a lot of great sections, including the guitar work. This is just a lovely track, with some sick guitar and drum sections. Well done!
Relax.D - Last one of the main compo, ignoring Boomer's late entry! Really liking that lazer kick, goes great with the vocals. A combination of rock like music, with a sort of Kraftwerk electro beat. Whole thing is definately live, as there is a lot of rushing and dragging going on, which seems deliberate. The vocals are sick, it really feels quite grungy in nature. Love this one a lot, well done!
Boomer - Thick bass, damn you are not pulling punches with the bassline here. The metal part goes hard, but with the bassline it's even harder. Man it just sounds like one giant bassline i love it. I think this would go great with sound DnB/Techno stuff, but Metal is also good (Although i am bracing the gabber madness later on lol). That melody is fire, really adds the dark science fiction vibe. The electronic beats actually really do make this like a final boss theme in a racing game, so esentially my prayers have been answered lol. Man you just keep changing it up, that gabber kick, isn't even a gabber kick anymore, it's just filtered screech. I had to repeat this section a few times, because i swear there was something wrong with the track, but no, you are just messing with us by manipulated the volume fade. Whole thing is just one dynamic monster with so many amazing sections, and changes. I absolutely love it, well done!
